Comply Offsite - Terms & Conditions

Event Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to registration for and attendance at the Comply Offsite (“the Event”), organised by Comply Limited (“Comply”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By registering for or attending the Event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Registration and Attendance

Registration is subject to availability and is not confirmed until you have received confirmation from us.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information provided when registering is accurate and up to date.

The Event is intended primarily for professionals working in compliance and closely related roles. Comply reserves the right to refuse or cancel a registration where we reasonably consider that an individual does not fall within the intended professional audience for the Event.

Tickets may not be resold or transferred except in accordance with Section 3 below.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any person from the Event where their behaviour is disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, unsafe or otherwise inappropriate.

2. Payment

Payment is not required at the point of registration.

Following confirmation of your registration, Comply will issue an invoice for the applicable Event fee. Payment must be made in accordance with the payment terms stated on the invoice.

Registration creates an obligation to pay the applicable Event fee.

Failure to pay an invoice when due may result in your place at the Event being cancelled. This does not affect Comply's right to recover any amount that has already become due under these Terms & Conditions

3. Cancellations, Refunds and Ticket Transfers

All Event bookings are non-refundable. No refunds will be provided if you are unable to attend the Event or choose not to attend.

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person who works in compliance or a closely related professional role, at no additional charge.

You must notify Comply of any proposed ticket transfer before the Event and provide the replacement attendee's name and email address. The individual must complete the registration request form in order to provide the required details.

Comply reserves the right to decline a proposed transfer where the replacement attendee does not meet the intended professional audience for the Event.

Tickets may not be resold for profit or otherwise transferred without notifying Comply.

4. Changes to the Event

We may make reasonable changes to the Event, including changes to speakers, sessions, timings, content, venue or format.

While we will make reasonable efforts to deliver the advertised programme, speakers and content may change due to circumstances outside our control.

Changes to individual speakers, sessions, timings or Event content will not entitle attendees to a refund where the Event continues to take place substantially as advertised.

5. Cancellation or Postponement by Comply

If Comply cancels the Event entirely and does not reschedule it, attendees who have paid to attend will be entitled to a refund of the ticket price paid.

If the Event is postponed or rescheduled, registrations will automatically be transferred to the new date. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you may transfer your ticket to another eligible attendee in accordance with Section 3.

Comply will not be responsible for additional costs incurred as a result of cancellation, postponement or changes to the Event, including travel, accommodation or other associated expenses.

6. Photography, Filming and Recording

Photography, video and audio recording will take place throughout the Event.

By attending the Event, you acknowledge and accept that you may be photographed, filmed or recorded, including as part of audience shots, presentations, networking sessions, Q&A sessions and general footage of the Event. This will not include your name attached to any questions on the screen.

Comply may use photographs, video and audio captured at the Event for legitimate business, marketing and promotional purposes. This may include publication on Comply's website, social media channels, digital and printed marketing materials, promotional videos, press and media communications, and promotion of future Comply events.

Attendees may be clearly identifiable in this material. Due to the nature of a live professional event, Comply cannot guarantee that an attendee who does not wish to be photographed or filmed will be excluded from photographs, video or other recordings.

Where Comply specifically asks an attendee to participate in an interview, testimonial or other individually commissioned promotional content, appropriate additional permission will be obtained where required.

Attendees may take photographs for their own personal or professional use, provided this does not disrupt the Event or infringe the rights of others. This must not include any attendees names attached to questions on the screen. Audio or video recording of presentations, speakers or substantial parts of the Event is not permitted without the prior approval of Comply and, where applicable, the relevant speaker.

By registering for and attending the Event, attendees acknowledge the photography and recording arrangements set out above.

7. Personal Data and Privacy

Comply Limited will process personal data provided in connection with the Event in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

Information we collect may include your name, job title, organisation, contact details, dietary or accessibility requirements, payment information and information relating to your attendance at the Event.

We may use this information to:

  • administer your registration and attendance;

  • process payments;

  • communicate important information about the Event;

  • manage the venue, catering and Event logistics;

  • accommodate dietary and accessibility requirements;

  • operate, evaluate and improve the Event;

  • maintain appropriate business and financial records; and

  • where permitted, tell you about future Comply events, services and activities.

Personal data will only be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements.

Further information about how Comply processes personal data, the lawful bases on which we process it, how it may be shared and your rights is available in our Privacy Policy and Notice:

https://www.comply.je/privacy-policy

8. Sponsors, Exhibitors and Other Attendees

The Event may include sponsors, guest speakers and other third parties.

We will not provide your personal contact details to sponsors for their own direct marketing purposes unless you have agreed to this or we otherwise have a lawful basis for doing so.

If you choose to provide your contact details directly to a sponsor, speaker or another attendee, their own privacy terms may apply to their subsequent use of that information.

We may include your name, job title and organisation in an attendee list or other Event materials where this has been made clear as part of the registration process and is permitted under applicable data protection requirements.

9. Marketing Communications

Registering for the Event does not automatically mean that you will receive unrelated electronic marketing from us.

Where required, we will ask separately whether you would like to receive information about future events, services or other Comply activities.

You can change your marketing preferences or unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

We may still contact registered attendees with information necessary for the administration and delivery of the Event.

10. Speakers and Event Materials

Presentations, slides, recordings, documents and other materials made available at the Event may be protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights belonging to Comply, the relevant speaker or another third party.

Unless expressly permitted, Event materials are provided for attendees' personal and professional reference only and may not be copied, republished, sold, distributed or commercially exploited without permission.

Views expressed by speakers are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Comply.

11. Professional Information and Reliance

The Event is intended to provide information, discussion and professional development.

Following the Event, attendees will be issued with a CPD certificate confirming their attendance. CPD certificates will be sent to the email address provided during registration.

When issuing CPD certificates, we may also invite attendees to provide feedback on the Event. Feedback helps us evaluate the Event and improve future Comply events. Providing feedback is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving your CPD certificate.

Content presented at the Event is general in nature and should not be treated as legal, regulatory, tax, financial or other professional advice.

Although we aim to ensure that Event content is useful and accurate, attendees remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice and making their own decisions based on their individual circumstances.

12. Conduct

We want the Event to be welcoming, professional and respectful.

Attendees are expected to behave appropriately towards other attendees, speakers, Event staff and venue staff.

Attendees are also expected to operate under Chatham House Rule, which allows you to use information from the Event, but forbids you from revealing the identity or affiliation of any speaker or attendee.

Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threatening behaviour, excessive disruption or other inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

Comply reserves the right to refuse admission or require an attendee to leave where we reasonably consider this necessary.

Where an attendee is refused admission or removed because of their conduct, no refund will be provided.

13. Accessibility and Dietary Requirements

Please tell us about any accessibility or dietary requirements when registering or as early as reasonably possible before the Event.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requirements notified to us but cannot guarantee that every request can be met, particularly where we receive limited notice or the matter is outside our control.

14. Personal Property

Attendees are responsible for their own belongings while attending the Event.

To the extent permitted by law, Comply accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property unless caused by our negligence or other circumstances for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Subject to this, Comply will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from attendance at, cancellation of, postponement of or changes to the Event.

Comply will not be responsible for circumstances outside our reasonable control, including transport disruption, severe weather, illness, failure of utilities or technology, venue closure, government action or other events which prevent or materially affect delivery of the Event.

16. Force Majeure

Comply will not be liable for failure or delay in delivering the Event where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where such circumstances arise, we may change the date, venue, programme or format of the Event, including moving all or part of the Event online, where reasonably appropriate.

Where the Event is rescheduled rather than cancelled, the provisions of Section 5 will apply.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary.

The version applicable to your booking will normally be the version in force at the time you register, except where a change is required by law or is necessary for the safe or effective delivery of the Event.

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Jersey.

Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions or the Event will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jersey.
